Anthropology visual media, online resources
The National Anthropological Archives, at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History's Department of Anthropology, has an online collection of relevant images. They include ethnographic subjects, American anthropologists and employees of the Ethnological Bureau, and some archived fieldnotes. Notable online exhibits include the fieldnotes of Alice Fletcher.
The Peabody Museum at Harvard also has an online collection of ethnographic images that include objects and people.
Teaching anthropology resources
AnthroNotes is a quarterly publication of the Smithsonian's Department of Anthropology aimed at non-specialists. Recent articles include Virtual Worlds and Futures of Anthropology by Tom Boellstorff, The Anthropology of Overweight, Obesity, and the Body by Peter J. Brown and Jennifer Sweeney, and Understanding the Behavior of Shi'a and Sunni Muslims in Iraq is Complicated by William O. Beeman, all in the Spring 2009 issue.
