Rocky Termanini, a senior computer scientist, researcher, educator, and technology evangelist wants to introduce new metrics in Academia. In the last few years, he has been focusing on correlating academic excellence with student future preparedness. Dr. Termanini, who earned his PhD from Yale, believes Academia needs to be re-engineered. The present academia rolls out “packaged” students from the production line without any future readiness knowledge. Students are handed a diploma as a token of spending four years in academic captivity taking courses on a variety of subjects. The learning of the student is directly proportional to the competence of the teacher. Dr. Termanini believes that if a student makes an “F”, then the teacher should also deserve an “F”. Sport head coaches are wholly responsible for the success of their players. If the team has a bad season, the coach is replaced. Similar metrics should also apply to academic institutions.

Metric #1 Universities should be responsible for the "future readiness" of all their students. Metric #2 If a student gets and "F", then the teacher should also deserve an "F". Metric #3 If students believe they are not learning much, then they should elevate the issue to management. Metric #4 If a Teacher's performance record includes many Fs, then dismissal or corrective action should be done promptly. Metric #5 Academic institutions should be responsible for the placement of their graduate in good jobs, based on the major of the graduate.
