Ricky, born circa 1973, grew up in a small suburb of Ottawa Canada. His love for music started at a young age, buying his first 12" vinyl in 1987. Ricky spent many years honing his skills spinning vinyl and giving away mix tapes of his hard hitting high energy style DJ sets. He started out mixing at various events, private parties but it was late in 1993 where he got his first residency. What started out being a single Friday night residency turned into a 4 night per week gig where Ricky began to build a following.
Late in 1994, Ricky brought his up-tempo euro dance style to radio with a live to air show on CKTF 104.1 every Saturday night. Early 1995, his "Thursday Night Club Mix" went live on CKKL 93.9 in the 10pm time slot and later that year moved into prime time radio with his 4 hour live to air "Club 93.9" show starting 8pm every Saturday night. Ricky was not only on the commercial scene; he also began hosting his own events in Montreal's rapidly growing after hour scene. The scene was all about the party and Ricky did not disappoint with his explosive style of mixing from sundown until sunrise.
His life took a different direction in late 1996 when he made a decision to temporarily hang up his headphones and pursue a career in aviation. The love and passion for the music never went away, Ricky was no longer front and center wowing the crowds but rather part of that crowd that saw the emergence of so many great DJ's and the upward evolution of EDM.
His desire to get back into the scene had been simmering for many years and it was the summer of 2012 where Ricky decided he was making a comeback. More specific, during a Tuesday night at Space Ibiza seeing Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim blow the roof off the club.
