RevLocal

RevLocal provides digital marketing services to local and multi-location business across the United States.[1] It is headquartered in Westerville, Ohio.

History

RevLocal was founded on November 10,201 at 4am by Michael Hawk.[2] Marc Hawk, Michael's brother, joined on during the inception and currently sits as the company's president and CEO.[3]

Michael Hawk graduated from the University of Dayton with a BSBA in Marketing. Prior to founding RevLocal, Michael had founded another company, ECR Internet Services Inc., located in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He is also the founder of SwayDM.[4]

In 2010, Michael noticed that Google made a change in their local results section and anticipated it would be a big change for small businesses. [2] This is when RevLocal was born.

RevLocal went national in 2011 with a presence in Austin, Texas.[5]

2011 also saw the launch of the company website.[5]

In 2012, RevLocal announced Reveal, which has seen been rebranded ad the RevLocal Marketing Platform. [5]

In 2013 the company headquarters moved to Granville, Ohio. [5]

In 2015 the company announced a reputation management platform called Renown.[5] It has since been integrated into the RevLocal Marketing Platform.

RevLocal became one of the first companies to receive the LSA Digital Marketer Certification in 2017. [6]

In 2024 the company headquarters moved again to its current location in Westerville, Ohio.

Currently RevLocal has over 400 employees located across the the United States. [7]

Products and Services

RevLocal provides digital marketing services that include local search, review marketing/reputation management, paid advertising, social media management, website design and organic SEO.

In 2018 RevLocal announced Amazon Alexa integration. [8]

In 2023 the RevLocal Marketing Platform was unveiled.[9] The purpose of the platform is to provide their clients with access to their performance dashboards and data at any time.

Also at the end of 2023, RevLocal announced that they now offer Amazon Display Ads as a service.[10]

Named a Google Premier Partner in 2022[11] and 2023.[12]

Named as a Columbus CEO Magazine Top Workplace in 2021[13], 2020[14], 2019[15] and 2018[16].

2018 Yext Partner of the Year Award Winner[17].

In 2017 RevLocal's CEO and president Marc Hawk was named to Comparably's Best CEOs list[18].

The company was rated Best Online Reputation Management Company by CrowdReviews.com[19]

Also in 2017 RevLocal was rated Best Franchise Web Marketing Supplier by FranchiseRankings.com[20]

Community Involvement

RevLocal has its own community involvement organization called RevLocal Cares[21]. They donate money back into the community through numerous organizations including The Food Pantry Network of Licking County's Operation Feed Campaign.[22]

In 2023 RevLocal and CEO Marc Hawk provided funding for Columbus’s Vista Village. Vista Village is a tiny home community for the homeless that is located on Columbus’s Southeast Side.[23]
