Hello. I'm Ross J. Reedstrom, a researcher and systems administrator at Connexions, an Open Edcation Resources project housed at Rice University. I've worked at Connexions since 2001 or so. I've been an open source/free software advocate sine the early 1990's (yes, that long ago), was the founding (and final) advisor for RLUG, the Rice Linux User's Group (back in the day when you needed help to successfully install Linux). I also teach Aikido, through the Rice Aikido Club, a dojo affiliated with the Aikido Association of America, and thus, the International Aikido Federation. I currently hold the rank of Nidan. I'm the parent of two elementary age boys, and thus am deeply concerned about public education in this country.
