Expert retention seems like an increasingly important problem to me.

I have, in the past, enjoyed researching and writing new Wikipedia articles, but as of 2010 I'm taking an extended, possibly permanent, vacation from substantive editing (apart from fixing vandalism). A years-long accumulation of minor irritants has convinced me it will be unrewarding to contribute my time providing further new research and new writing.
