Howdy, I'm Raskuly, or just Rask! I go by the name Brandon, and I like to edit Wikipedia pages as a hobby. I'm always learning and I will make mistakes, so please approach me politely about anything I've done wrong! Originally, I mainly contributed to lists, and I still do, but I've shifted to writing proper sections of articles instead, and sometimes entire articles. Typically, I write about tropical cyclones in the Atlantic basin, crime in the United States, and association football. You might notice that I often start editing articles about events in full force days after they're created, mostly because I find it annoying to have to deal with the "first wave" of editors. I don't usually contribute to those articles beyond fighting vandalism or cleaning up major issues at first. I also have a frankly unhealthy obsession with Rain World, Poppy Playtime's Smiling Critters, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Hollow Knight.

I was born in Maryland, but I've lived in Florida since I was 4-years-old, and I have little memories of my time in Maryland and Virginia (where I lived even longer), so I consider myself essentially a native Floridian. I have Central American and West Indian ancestry from my grandmother's side, more specifically Honduran and Caymanian, but on my grandfather's side I have ties to England and settlers of the Delmarva region.

My grandmother immigrated to the United States from the Honduran cay island of Bonacca south of the larger island of Guanaja and settled in Florida in the early 1950s while my grandfather, who was from Virginia, served in the United States Air Force. They met, and despite my grandmother's darker skin (remember, he was from the south), they fell in love, married, and had four children. Their youngest and only son was my father, and he had me with one of his girlfriends. I don't know much about the specifics of my mother's ancestry, but she appears to have heavy ancestral ties to England as well.

I'm a big fan of association football, or soccer, and I'm a supporter of Orlando City. I don't consider myself an outright fan of other clubs, but I am fond of Bradford City, Le Havre, 1. FC Saarbrücken, Real Zaragoza, and Bari. Growing up I played soccer, but I got out of when I was around 13-years-old, but around 18-years-old I got into the sport again. I really wish I would've stayed interested with the sport because I might've been able to play at a high school or college/university level.

Rasmus Kask is a European rabbit, and he was born in Viipuri, Finland, on February 25, 1923, to Topias and Maarit Kask in a world much like ours, except everyone is rabbits. Topias was unfortunately killed in a workplace accident at the local paper plant shortly before Rasmus was born. Maarit managed to secure a job at a restaurant catering to the wealthy through a family friend and, while working there, she met Simon Bullion, a French entrepreneur near her age who was visiting Vyborg on a business trip.

Maarit and Simon fell in love, and he brought her and Rasmus to live with him in Paris, and shortly thereafter they married. As Rasmus grew older, he benefitted greatly from his adoptive father's wealth and began attending the University of Paris to study world history with the intention of becoming a professor. As German forces pushed into Poland, Maarit and Simon were in Brighton on a business trip while Rasmus was in France. The couple urged Rasmus to join them in England, but Rasmus refused, believing it would be better to continue his studies and that he was safe. Rasmus and the French people watched in shock and fear as German forces rapidly pushed through the Benelux into France and the country capitulated.

Rasmus tried to stay under the radar in fear of the Nazis discovering his homosexuality and planned on attempting an escape into Switzerland, but he became inspired by the reports of resistance fighters attacking Nazi and Vichy forces. Rasmus managed to make contact with the Maquis and joined their ranks. Rasmus initially was the odd-one-out among his comrades due to his wealthy background, as most of the fighters came from working-class backgrounds, but over time their bonds grew as they fought alongside each other. Rasmus was heavily traumatized by his experiences during the war, but ultimately he became a stronger and better person as a result of it.

When creating Rasmus' story, I tried to be mindful of not making Rasmus an exceptional hero (though fighting the Nazis arguably makes him a hero) and instead he is just a regular person trying to survive horrific circumstances, as it seemed disrespectful to make my fursona a notable individual in a fictional WWII setting or a Mary Sue. Rasmus does not do anything particularly notable other than survive the war and grow his character because of it. Also, he is named "Rasmus Kask" because it's close to "Rask", and his official name was created many years after his creation and the development of my username. I made Rasmus have a Finnish background despite his Estonian surname, because it's not inconceivable for someone with Kask as their surname to be from Finland and because I wanted him to be born in a city that was annexed by the Soviet Union in an unprovoked war and still remains under Russian rule to show opposition to all forms of authoritarianism.
