Alex Belfield was born at the QMC in Nottingham on January 14th 1980. Alex lived in Mapperley before moving to Gedling aged 5 where he still lives. Alex went to the Phoenix School, Stanhope School and Gedling Comprehensive School.

One of Belfield's biggest influences was his Grandmother who he spent endless hours talking to, listening to and laughing with. Lil died in 2001, Alex sang at her funeral. Alex's mother Sue works for BT and his father Joe is an engineer. Alex has one sibling Danielle who is a manager of a Nursery in Nottingham.

Alex's interest in Comedy and Entertainment started at a very early with a huge collecting of comedy video's with the likes of Les Dawson, Joe Pasquale, Bob Monkhouse, Johnnie Casson, Frankie Howerd, Jethro and Kenny Williams. Alex's favourite comic was Ken Dodd who he met for the first time in 1994, since then Alex has written for Ken, promoted his Live shows and interviewed the 'Squire of Knotty Ash' hundreds of times. Despite Ken being in his 80's they have now become good friends. Alex also admires comedians like David Letterman, Artie Lange, Joan Rivers, Lisa Lampinelli and Don Rickles,

Alex's interest in Radio started after listening to BBC Radio Nottingham. Alex admired and later became friends with the Station legend Dennis McCarthy. Dennis would regularly talked to Alex on the phone on Dennis's 'Afternoon Special'. Aged 14 Dennis got Alex his first Live concert in Derbyshire after playing Live on the air. Alex also enjoyed listening to broadcasters like John Taynton, Gordon Astley, Chris Ashley, Steve Wright, Howard Stern and Jeff Owen.

Aged 6 Alex began weekly Keyboard lessons. Alex started performing Live shows in 1994 around Nottingham for charities, OAP homes, at private functions and at school. At 15 Belfield became MD for the 'The St Anthony's' Italian Choir after an appeal on Radio Nottingham.....Alex spent 5 years with the Choir without knowing a single word of Italian. The Italian singing choir performed at St Augustines Church on Woodborough Road in Nottingham. Alex and the Choir appeared in the Nottingham Evening Post on many occasions. Alex toured 3 times a year with 20 members of the choir around the East Midlands with a show called 'Sing It Together'.

In 1996 Alex planned to go to Radio Nottingham to do work experience with Dennis McCarthy. Sadly Dennis died just 2 weeks before and Alex arrived so he worked with Jeff Owen instead on the Mid-Morning Programme. Alex continued to work for free for various presenters at the station including Lisa Lynch. Alex also spent a year at 'Nottingham Hospitals Radio' in 1997 which was a great learning curve for the young broadcaster.

In 1998 Alex was part of the launch team of Radio 106 which later became Century 106 and eventually Heart 106. Alex worked with Mark Keen answering the phones from 10pm and helping out around the station. After various management changes and re-launches Belfield ended up presenting the 'Entertainment Update' and presenting overnights 1-6am during the week. Alex was doing his A-Levels at the same time. In 1999 Alex got to work with one of his hero's Chris Ashley on the 'Late Night Mega Phone-in'. After more changes Alex worked with many legends at the station including Larry Lloyd, Brian Clough, Darren Fletcher, Bernie Keith, Scottie McClue, Adrian Allen and Gordon Astley before leaving in 2000.

In 2000 Alex launched 'The Lunchtime Mega Phone-in' at 1pm on Mansfield 103.2 which was the talk of the town and a huge success for the PR of the station. The controversial phone-in attracted complaint from not only the public but Mansfield Town Football Club and several of its players. Alex told the Nottingham Evening Post in 2003 that this show "was the most fun I'd ever had on the radio".

In 2001 Belfield accepted the challenge of a lifetime and moved to Kenya to launch 'Belfield at Breakfast' on Capital FM across Nairobi. Alex spent 6 months in East Africa entertaining the punters and causing a storm of publicity for the station from the 17th Floor of Capital FM's Lonroh House Studios. Alex visited many of Kenya's attractions whilst abroad including the Masai Mara, Mount Kenya, Lake Nairvasha, Mombasa and one of the worlds 10 restaurants 'The Carnivore'.

In late 2001 Belfield returned to 106 Century FM working for David Lloyd as Adrian Allen's afternoon and Late Night producer. The following year when Capital bought the station Gareth Roberts appointed Belfield 'On-Air Producer' for 'Morning Skye' with Ian Skye and Lucy Tegg.

In 2002 Alex presented a radio show called 'How New York Recovered' Live from New York following the tragedy the previous year at Ground Zero. The programme was syndicated on nearly 20 Radio Stations across the UK mostly for the BBC.

In 2003 Alex spent a short while back at BBC Radio Nottingham working for Karl Cooper and out in the Radio Car for Mick Smith before moving to BBC Radio Leicester for 18 months as Station Sound Producer and cover presenter under Liam McCarthy. Alex also introduced the Queen and Duke of Edinborough to 20,000 people during his time at the station.

In 2004 Alex launched 'Scarlet FM' in Llanelli, South Wales for Keri Jones and his Radio Carmarthenshire Group. Alex's mammoth Breakfast Show was on air from 5am-Midday, fortunately Alex was only Live from 7-10am. Alex was fired after 3 months for being 'too controversial' following a series of news stories generated by the station. Following Belfield's departure from the station the entire output was voice-tracked from 50 miles away and there were no Live programmes whatsoever. Alex took the Radio Station to court in Cardiff and won the case at the Employment Tribunals Court in Jan 2005.

In May 2005 'Belfield at Breakfast' launched on the AM airwaves in Brum. Alex filled in for Tom Ross on Capital Gold Birmingham for 6 weeks through the summer. In August Belfield was taken to London by Capital Gold programme controller Andy Turner and he launched 'The Late Night Revolution' from 10-1am nationally across the UK and Saturday Breakfast from 6-9am. Alex became the peak of the day on Saturday's beating David 'Kid' Jenson' in just six months. Alex left the station in 2006 following a format change to 'it's all about the music'.

In August 2006 Belfield worked for BFBS for 3 months living and working in Germany for Forces. Alex returned in the December to perform a sell out 42 date Christmas tour.

In Spring 2007 Alex moved to Coventry to present 'Belfield at Breakfast' on 96.2 Touch FM for CN Radio under Don Douglas. Alex resigned from the station in the Autumn following cutbacks, re-location and networking within the group..

In 2008 Alex launched a weekly show called 'City of the Stars' in Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales on talk station CityTalk 105.9. Alex talks to the stars each week, the show is repeated throughout the week. Alex also presented shows for BBC Radio Derby, BBC Radio Shropshire in 2008 and covered the weekend Midlands Late Show in the West Midlands for the BBC. In October 2008 Alex signed a deal to bring his celebrity interviews to Talk 107 in Scotland. The Radio Show will be called 'Star Talk on Talk107'.

Since 2001 under 'Alex Belfield Productions' Alex has presented Celebrity Specials for more than 70 Radio Stations in the UK. His shows have been broadcast on BBC WM, BBC C&W, BBC Merseyside, BBC Radio Leeds, BBC Radio York, BBC Radio Kent, BBC Radio Jersey, BBC Radio Gloucester, BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Radio Leicester, BBC Radio Cleveland, BBC Radio Solent, BBC Three Counties Radio, BBC Radio Humberside, BBC Radio Newcastle, BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester, BBC Radio Stoke and many more. Guests have included Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver, Jackie Collins, Lynda La Plante, Russell T Davies, Diana Krall, Ozzy and Sharon, Duchess of York, Cilla Black, Cliff Richard, Sir Ian McKellen, Andrea Bocelli, Katherine Jenkins, Michael Ball and many more.

Alex also fly's to Las Vegas each April to record 'The Worlds Best Shows from Las Vegas' and New York in November to record 'The Magic of the Musicals on Broadway'. In 2008 Alex fly's to Montreal in November to record 'Montreal at 400'.
