Colin Hosten is the Director of Development for The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts[1], which was founded in 2018 with a mission to provide exemplary and equitable education to aspiring artists and students, make a positive community impact, and create connections and entertainment opportunities in Connecticut. He is a writer and teacher, as well as a public servant who has been elected to the City Council[2] and Board of Education in the City of Norwalk, Connecticut. A former children’s book editor, Colin has written or co-authored seven children’s books of his own[3], and currently teaches in the undergraduate writing program at Fairfield University[4].

An MFA graduate of Fairfield University, Hosten studied English Literature at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, before earning his first graduate degree, in Publishing, at NYU. He has also served on the Board of Directors of Lambda Legal[5], Equality Connecticut[6], Bridgeport Pride Center, and the Triangle Community Center, and was named a Trustee of the CT Safe Harbor Fund in 2025[7].

Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Colin now lives in Connecticut, where he enjoys musical theater, brunch, and fighting for full equality for the LGBTQ+ community everywhere.
