Hey there! my name is Priscilla and I'm studying Biological Sciences at Rice University. I am interested in health disparities in the United States in regards to health awareness and access to food.

As part of the introductory course in the PJHC program (Fall 2018), I worked on revising the Environmental Racism Wikipedia page to address Environmental Racism and Environmental Justice, in the United States, as well as around the world. Currently, the article is rated C-class, despite its high importance status in multiple WikiProjects. Environmental racism is an increasingly important topic as climate change is affecting everyone, but in some cases, some marginalized populations more so than others. Furthermore, the health of certain populations of people are compromised based on race and/or socioeconomic status. This significantly affects their lives and their agency in reaching their human capabilities. Two flaws in this Wikipedia article is pointed out in two templates at the top of the article. This includes not having a neutral view and not being broad in scope. I revised this article so that readers have a broad view of environmental racism and so that readers are not lost in the confusing syntax and disorganization in the current article. This semester, Spring 2020, I am in the Human Development in Local and Global Communities. My two proposed topics are Hmong Americans and Foot binding. For the Hmong Americans Wikipedia page, I propose to add a subsection on health disparities to provide another layer of understanding the inequalities that Hmong Americans face. For the Foot binding Wikipedia page, I hope to add more content to the "Feminist perspective" section.

As an update, I have decided to edit the Hmong Americans Wikipedia page with the following intentions: 1) adding a "Health disparities" section; 2) adding citations throughout the "History" section; 3) editing the "Hmong by location" to add more depth to locations and to simplify longer sections
