The kernel of the Poethead blog is based in promoting and discussing women poets, editors, writers and translators.

From the About Page of Poethead : Poethead came about as a result of my lack of ability to access many women writers or indeed adequate translations of my favourite poets ; an academic and historic lack which is not readily acknowledged here in Ireland. Ideally I want this blog to be a place for integrating my influences and reading from multiple sources, including sound, outsider poetry, Youtube, archival sources and best of all poetry books.

Poethead/an chinnfile is interested in increasing the dissemination of women's cultural voices on Wikipedia through posting brief introductions to the poets, their books and websites."
