I am a former assistant to MIT professor Charles Leiserson. In that position, I researched the references of the first edition of “Introduction to Algorithms”, authored by Prof. Leiserson, his graduate student at the time Thomas H Cormen, and Prof. Ron Rivest. All subsequent editions of “Introduction to Algorithms” have also been co-authored by Prof. Cliff Stein, who was also a graduate student at MIT during my employment there. Emeritus Prof. Cormen and Prof. Stein have remained personal friends of mine for the 31 years since I left my position at MIT.
