Translation of Danish "East Asiatic Company" in progress

ØK, Østasiatisk Kompagni eller EAC, East Asiatic Company, blev stiftet i 1884 af H. N. Andersen.

I løbet af de næste 80 år udbyggedes aktiviteterne til at omfatte søtransport over hele verden. I 1965 købtes Plumrose, som idag er fundamentet for ØKs sydamerikanske aktiviteter. I 1970'erne var ØK Skandinaviens største selskab målt på omsætning, men stor gæld førte til store tab i 1980'erne, og mange forretningsområder måtte sælges fra.

I 2005 solgtes den største delforretning EAC Nutrition til hollandske Royal Numico NV.

I dag fokuserer ØK på 3 hovedområder primært i Asien og Sydamerika: EAC Foods, EAC Industrial Ingredients og EAC Moving and Relocation Services.

Selskabet er noteret på Københavns Fondsbørs.
