"Omishikala" literally means "the love remains." To show this love that remains they need to express it in a ceremony that entails different actions. Omishkala comes from a myth about two people. Omishi son of Inna and Noga Mornan was a lost young man who lived in a family that was falling apart. His life was deteriorating and he needed some inspiration to get him through. After an extensive fight with his family, he runs away. Kala was a beautiful woman who was orphaned at a young age, and did not have a home. After Omishi ran away he hid in the sewer where he found her sleeping. There he nursed her back to health and they fell in love. He was able to support her with a job in a candle factory and they were able to move out of the sewer into a small house. Omishi and Kala loved each other very much. They grew old together and got through everything with their love. One sunday afternoon they mysteriously died. Researchers believe it to have been a rare case of the black plague, but the true reason is unknown. Even after their death the love remained, and this love was later named Omishikala.
