Rang De Basanti - an absolute surprise package

Rang De Basanti seems to be full of surprises, and the credits definitely goes to the director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Not to forget the amazing performance exhibited by all actors. Aamir Khan and Atul Kulkarni indeed lived-up to their forte.

Siddharth- Karan Singhania, a secret weapon from martyr-troop of Rang De Basanti who aspired to become an ace director, is now the latest talk of the town. There is no doubt about his remarkable performance in his Bollywood debut RDG, where he has confidently shared screen-space with the senior most Bollywood actor ‘Aamir Khan’ that too with an equally dominant dexterousness acting. In fact, with his substantial acting he is the surprise package of the film RDG.

He has beautifully sketched the role of Karan- emotionally detached from his family. His silence, face expressions and apt body language, articulates lot of untold stories in the film. Moreover, he has successfully clutched the viewers’ attention in the mourning scenes after Ajay (Mahadhavan) dies, especially, in the song ‘Luka Chuppi’. It is obvious to relate the poignant expressions of Soha Ali Khan and Waheeda Rehman. But Sidharth’s terrific controlled performance was remarkably noteworthy, whereas in this scene, even Aamir pales out in comparison.

Undoubtedly his fantabulous performance augurs that he’ll surely grab an award for best supporting actor for the year 2006.All the best! Great going.
