Mike launched his career in the Nation's Capital, Washington DC., after graduating from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. He worked for PVS Communications servicing some of the most respected news organizations in the world including CBS, ABC, BBC-London, NHK-Japan, TF-1 France, CBC-Canada and IBA-Israel. His work included coverage of Presidential Elections, White House events, the Gulf War, Hurricanes, Earthquakes and even Space. Mike was invited by Prince Sultan of Saudi Arabia, a Space Shuttle Astronaut, to create a live broadcast of the Interplanetary Congress in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia formed to discuss Space and the environment. The panel included Astronauts from the U.S. and former Soviet Union.
After his success on the East Coast Mike was hired by E! Entertainment Television in Los Angeles to be the Technical Supervisor of Live Events. Mike created multi-camera Live productions as large as 14 cameras for Movie Premieres and Award shows such as the Academy Awards, the Grammy's and the Emmys.
E! Network is where Mike got his first taste of working with his soon to be production partner, Shannon Keenan. Their work chemistry was flawless. His creative drive caught the eye of E!'s Sr. VP of Programming and he was paired up with Shannon to develop and launch the travel game show series, "Search Party" covering 75 episodes and 13 beach resort locations.
From there, Mike was assigned the task of developing and producing E!'s biggest travel show to date, "Celebrity Adventures." 7 Celebrities, 7 wonders of the world. Traveling with a cast of 20 in difficult foreign environments he acted as producer, kamikaze cameraman, and post producer to create some of the most thrilling shows and personal adventures to date.
Mike worked in Papua New Guinea, Bali, Australia, South Africa, Peru and Belize to name a few. He became a pro at being able to get in and around these foreign countries that can be extremely difficult to shoot in, not to mention dancing through the government and customs paperwork.
After leaving E! to pursue life as a freelancer, Mike rediscovered his technical roots and has found much success as a freelance Camerman, Director and Audio Tech. His recent projects include:
