About Me

I'm Mike Vietti and I work with a non-profit organization called Alphapointe based in Kansas City, Missouri. Alphapointe's goal is to empower people to with vision loss to achieve their goals and aspirations. I came across an article about the WikiBlind User Group from the American Foundation for the Blind and it inspired people within our organization to become involved with Wikipedia. Alphapointe was founded in 1911 and has a long history of service to people of all ages with vision loss, so I thought we would work on creating a simple page for Alphapointe as a starting point in becoming more familiar with Wikipedia. We're using this as a teaching tool for people involved in our rehabilitation program (which includes training with adaptive technologies) and we're excited to provide this opportunity.
