Mario Alejandro Gutierrez Urrutia (Mario A. Gutierrez), born in Puerto Montt in February 10, 1953, Chile. Studied business administration at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in Santiago and a Ph. D in Economics at the University of Chicago, Illinois, United States. He is married and has five children. At present he works for the International Monetary Fund as macro fiscal advisor for East Africa. Previously he worked for the World Bank, for the Institute of International Finance, and the Central Bank of Chile.
