ABDUL FATEH SHEIKH : A REVERED FIGURE OF KANDOORA

Abdul Fateh Sheikh, a resident of the village of Kandoora, passed away approximately three decades ago. He was a highly respected and esteemed individual. Regardless of age, no one had the courage to speak to him directly due to the immense respect he commanded. Women would change their paths upon seeing Abdul Fateh Sheikh, driven by both fear and reverence.

He had been an esteemed Islamic cleric of his time, having delivered numerous Nikah sermons in Kandoora. Many children learned the Quran from him. Sheikh was an expert in Arabic, Persian, and Urdu, and he was also proficient in speaking and writing these languages, including English. He had numerous high-profile friends, both from within and outside the village, including Mohmmad Mir and Haji-Sahib of Kandoora.

He had been instrumental in the construction of a mosque and the formation of a committee, in the beginning of 20th century of which he was appointed chairman. Haji Sahib had been entrusted with the role of treasurer, and Muhammad Ramzan Hajam had served as secretary. Many others had been part of this committee, though their names are not known to me at this time.

Additionally, Sheikh Sahib played a pivotal role in the establishment of the high school in Kandoora, which had been constructed in the mid-20th century.
