Lisa Bella Donna is an internationally acclaimed composer, recording artist, clinician, and modular synthesist.

She’s highly regarded as a virtuoso musician and performer. She is a brand ambassador for Moog Music Inc. Providing a wide variety of inspiring and educational content for them. Including live, demonstrative performance videos and composing modular and multi-timbral patches and sound design for their many books, manuals, and firmware updates.

She’s worked closely with other manufacturers such as Yamaha, Mellotron, Novation, & EarthQuaker Devices. As both a product consultant and demonstrator.

Lisa is featured in the Kim Bjørn publication entitled, “Patch & Tweak with Moog”. In the book Lisa unveils many aspects of her history, process and extensive techniques with modular synthesis. Lisa was also featured in Kim Bjørns “Pedal Crush”, where she talks about implementing effects pedals with synthesizers and various recording techniques.

She recently was invited to by Michelle-Moog Koussa to headline the opening of the Bob Moog Foundation in Asheville,North Carolina. She conducted an electronic music workshop as well as performed a 90 minute closing set for the event. Along with longtime Moog pioneers: Herbert Deutsch, Patrick Moraz and Larry Fast.

Lisa is also a member and contributor to the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation. Which celebrates the life and legacy with Pearlman’s creations of various ARP Synthesizers. Lisa donated a remixed, remastered version of her debut album “Snowy Dreamscapes” to the foundation for exclusive release. Originally recorded and released in 1993, the album consisted of only ARP synthesizers and sequencers.

In 2019 she toured Japan as a solo artist supporting Boris, Crypt City, and Relaxer. She also collaborated with Chicago’s Reverb.com on a video called “Choosing a Moog Synthesizer” upon her return.

Lisa conducts clinics and concerts at many universities around the world including a recent 2020 Summer residence at Berklee School of Music in Boston. She was featured alongside Suzanne Ciani, Jennifer Hruska, and Caterina Barbieri for the “Women in modular synthesis” panel for AES 2020.

She’s worked many years as a multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer, covering a wide variety of music and artists. Including jazz drumming with avant-garde jazz & classical pianist Simone Weißenfels from Leipzig, Germany. Where the two recorded and toured extensively throughout Europe and USA.

She was a founding member, composer, and multi-instrumentalist of EYE who released 4 LPs until disbanding in 2019.

Lisa currently composes, records, and releases several solo albums a year while simultaneously teaching online tutorials and homeschooling her daughter from her home and private studio in the Appalachian Mountains.
