Alie Moigboi (born 15 March 1992), Popularly known as Licious Kay, is a Sierra Leonean culture singer and songwriter. He was born in Kigbai, Peje West, Kailahun District, Eastern part of Sierra Leone. He rose to fame in 2023 with his breakout single, "Pepeti".

Licious Kay signed a record deal with Medish Music Record in 2022 and later left the label on 6 April 2024. In May 2024, he founded his own record label, Gbengbeteh Entertainment. In January 2024, he was awarded by the Kenema Entertainment Awards (KEA) as the Best Culture Artist and one of the trending and most streamed artists in the region.

Early life and education

Licious Kay was born as Alie Moigboi in Kigbai, Peje West, Kailahun District, in the Eastern Region of Sierra Leone. He hails from a large family and is the youngest of nine children. His parents are Mambu Moigboi and Hawa Moigboi.

He attended Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School Kenema for his secondary education. He later enrolled at Eastern Polytechnic Kenema (now known as Eastern Technical University of Sierra Leone), there he graduated in 2019 with a Teacher Certificate.

During his time in the university, he developed a strong interest in music and decided to pursue it as a career alongside his academic studies and he succeeded in both.

Career

2020–2021: Early career

Licious Kay began writing songs at the age of 28 years while he was still studying in the university. He recorded his first song, Nyanda Hindoya in 2021, which was produced by Bizzy. The song marked the beginning of his professional music career.

His early work helped him gain recognition within Sierra Leone.

2022–2023: Rising popularity

First featuring song: Ngoimayambe featuring Mariama Dodoyea in 2021

In 2023, Licious Kay released the song Soyae, featuring Sierra Leonean cultural artist Bobby Pee. The track was produced by Dr. Kaira and he merged as the Best Producer that year, The music video for Soyae was shot by Aim Vein and directed by Medish.

The song later won awards for Best Culture Song and Best Culture Video at the SLAAM Awards (2023–2024).

2024–present: Breakthrough and label founding

In 2024, Licious Kay released his Afroculture single Pepeti. The song gained significant radio airplay across Sierra Leone and became one of his most successful tracks. It peaked at number one on several local music charts and remained in the Top 10 Culture Songs for six weeks. This song became popular in the Afroculture genre.

The song was nominated for multiple awards and later won the Sierra Leone Association of Artists and Musicians SLAAM Award for Best Culture Song. It was also ranked among the best culture songs of the year by Kenema Entertainment Awards.

In April 2024, Licious Kay left Medish Music Record and founded his own label, Gbengbeteh Entertainment. Under the new label, he began signing new artists, including SL Rojo in 2024 and Massah Feiteweh in 2025.

In 2024, he released his first studio album under his own record label Deveh, which included four song Boinegua featuring Ranger K.

In June 2025, he released his album Podoyea, featuring artist Bobby Pee and Sekae korhun featuring Hawa Nyandebo. The album contains five tracks including Podoyea, Sekae Korhun, Cee-Goto, Jormorkoi, and Tiji Ta Tiji.

Later on the 4th December 2025, he released the EP Cee Baa, This Album contains songs like: Cee Baa, Arthi Gbaegbae, Kaga Mehen which he featured Big Joe, Sobea which collaborate with artists like: Jay Shine, Jerry-B, Med-Jay, Ndormai SB, Alusine Labawai, Inno Paradise, and Kenie Muade.

Personal life

Licious Kay is married to Mamie Bockarie Moigboi, who is also known publicly as Mrs. Licious Kay. She is the manager of Gbengbeteh Entertainment.

The couple have two daughters:

  • Jaminatu Moigboi (born 4 December 2014)
  • Fatmata Moigboi (born 20 March 2018)

In September 2025, Licious Kay he acquired a three-bedroom house. He has also stated that he hopes to build a duplex home and provide a car for his wife and children.

Outside music, he owns the F&J Boutique in Kenema and also owe the Gbengbeteh Power Sound System.
