K.M.SEETHI

K.M. SEETHI is Professor and Director, School of International Relations and Politics, Mahatma Gandhi University, in the South Indian State of Kerala.He is also Director, KN Raj Centre for Planning and Centre-State Financial Relations and Chairman, Centre for Cross-National Communication in South Asia, School of International Relations and Politics, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. Specialising in the issues of security, foreign policy, human rights, environment and political theory, he has taught for more than 25 years in the School. He has contributed several articles in national and international journals such as Millennium, Economic and Political Weekly, Indian Journal of Political Science, Indian Journal of Secularism, Mainstream, Radical Humanist etc.. Besides, he has written several articles in The New Indian Express, The Hindu and web portals. He has also contributed more than 190 articles in Malayalam journals and periodicals. The books of Prof. Seethi include Coastal Security: Needed A New Look (2010 co-edited KPS Menon Chair), Engaging with the World: Critical Reflections on India’s Foreign Policy (Orient Longman 2005) etc. Prof. Seethi had his MA (Political Science) from the University of Kerala. Subsequently, he took his PhD from the University of Kerala on the theme Security Considerations in South Asia: A Case Study with Special Reference to India-Pakistan Relations. He has presented more than 52 papers in various national and international seminars. He has served as member of several academic bodies such as Academic Council, Mahatma Gandhi University; Faculty of Social Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University; Board of Studies, International Relations and Political Science, Mahatma Gandhi University; Chairman, Board of Studies in Political Science, University of Calicut, Kerala; Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Calicut; Resource Person, Academic Staff College, University of Kerala; Academic Staff College, University of Calicut etc.

Prof. Seethi also served as the Dean of Social Sciences and Director of Research, MG University and held many positions. He has been the General Editor of Indian Journal of Politics and International Relations a biannual of the SIRP and currently the Editor of South Asian Journal of Diplomacy, Annual of the KPS Menon Chair for Diplomatic Studies. Prof. Seethi is also the Coordinator of the KPS Menon Chair for Diplomatic Studies. Important sites:
