RADIO CAREER
Kerdoon is currently the morning drive sportscaster for KNX 1070 Newsradio in Los Angeles where he has been since 2004. Kerdoon has also worked at the Fox Sports Radio Network (2003-04),KFWB-AM in Los Angeles (1989-1995), and KWNK-AM in Simi Valley (1988-1989). While in Salt Lake City (1984-1989), Kerdoon worked at KISN-FM, KISN-AM (Utah Jazz pre-game contributor), KTKK-AM Salt Lake Trappers (who won a record 29 baseball games in a row in 1987) and Salt Lake Golden Eagles pbp), KNKK-AM (Prep pbp), KSL-AM (BYU Sportscentral football show), and KDYL-AM. in Reno, Nevada (1981-1983)he worked at KOH-AM; in Bishop, CA. (1981), at KIOQ-FM; in Paso Robles, CA. (1979-1981) KPRL-AM, and in Pismo Beach (1979) he worked at KPGA-FM; and did high school sports pbp at KVEC-AM (1977). He also did a sports internship at KGIL-AM in San Fernando.
TV CAREER
in 2009 thru 2010, Randy anchored the Southern California High School Sports Rewind show on Time Warner Cable, which won a "Telly" award in 2010. In 2006 Randy was one of the original anchors of the Fox Sports Net show Final Score. From 1993 to 2002, Randy was the weekend sports anchor/weekday sports reporter at KTTV, Fox 11 in Los Angeles. in 1986-1987, Kerdoon produced and hosted the Weber State Football and Basketball Coaches show on KOOG in Ogden, Utah. He also called play by play for the Weber State football team.
THE STREAK
in 1987 Kerdoon became the play by play baseball announcer of the Salt Lake Trappers. a half season rookie league team in the Pioneer League that started off it's season with a 3-3 record, and then went on a 29 game winning streak. The 25th reunion of that team is set for 2012 in Salt Lake City.
AWARDS
since 1991, Kerdoon has won 14 Golden Mike awards, 5 AP-Mark Twain awards, and 4 L.A. Press Club awards for best sportscast and sports reporting. While at KTTV, Randy was nominated twice for an Emmy, winning one for best sports reporting in 1999.
VOICE-OVER CAREER
Randy has done commercial voice-overs for many national advertisers, including Miller Lite (remember Gourmet Wrestling??), Honda, Lojack, and Chevrolet. His voice has graced the movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 days" and TV's Men Behaving Badly (NBC). Both times he was a stadium announcer. <ref><http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0449260/>
EDUCATION
Kerdoon went to El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, California, followed by L.A. Pierce College, Cal State Northridge and finally received his B.S. degree (Bachelor of Science) in Journalism at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1978 where he was sports director and general manager at campus owned KCPR-FM.
CAR GUY
Randy is also a big fan of Classic Cars and occasionally reports on that world during his trips to the annual car auction weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona in January.
