ADITYA TEMPLE RAMAK (A temple of god Sun)

HISTORY:Surrounded with gigantic and ecstatic peaks, valley of flowers, skiing slopes and dense forests, beautiful flora and fauna Ramak is situated at a distance of about 75 km from Champawat. This village is famous for its Aditya temple, which is a temple of god Sun. It is sun temple like Kornarka in Orissa. This temple is very ancient heritage and it is said that Chand Raja has established this temple. Two other temples Aidi Mandir and Bhumia Mandir are also near this Aditya Temple. The Adi Mandir and Bhumia Mandir are situated under huge trees, which enhance the beauty of these temples.

Every year during the month of September a three days unusual fkmair is organized at this place, which attracts people from various regions. This fair is known as Sati Mela・

This is a wonderful place for treking and being one with the mountains. The Aditya Temple is situated between two famous tourist destination Devidhura and Reetha Sahib.

GENERAL INFORMATION Season: Around the year Clothing summer: light Woolens, winter: Heavy Woolens Language: Kumaoni, Hindi Local Transport: Bus/Jeeps/Taxis/ Ponies Road: Motorable road is upto Dholigaon (near Devidhura) and Reetha Sahib, which is around 70 km from Champawat. Thereafter, the road is under construction. From Dholigaon it takes around two hours (5 km) and From Reetha Sahib it takes around 3 hrs (7 km) to reach Ramak
