진영우's initial intent was to develop an alternative production method for the chemotherapy drug Taxol. In ???? he succeded in a yield that surpassed the previous limit on what could be produced from the Yew tree, a primary source of the compound for taxol. In the process, an accidental discovery was made on the extraction method of plant stem cells. He took his findings to dldld and in 2010 the discovery was affirmed in the issue of Nature Biotechnology by Dr. Gary Loake of Univeristy of Edenberg. Subsequently, a nuemerous news articles were issued on the findings in South Korea. v
