What is a sim dialer?
A sim dialer is a device made of printed circuit board (PCB) with an IC memory board, the same shape of a sim card. The sim dialer is thin enough to fit under a sim card in the sim slot of a GSM mobile/cellular phone. A sim dialer has its own STK menu which allows users to enter access numbers of their calling card service, VOIP service, Callback or Callthrough service. The sim dialer will automatically dial the access numbers and where necessary, pin code of the users' services.
Some sim dialers will automatically detect the country that a user is in, and automatically switch to the preset access number (entered in the STK menu) that applies to that area. Sim dialers are designed to work with unlocked phones, however, some are designed with unlock feature to unlock phones that are locked.
Other features of the sim dialers are as follows: 1. Works with 3G Sims for use in HSPA 3G phones
2. Compatible with USIM (3G HSPA also known as UMTS or WCDMA) and GSM SIM
3. Phone unlocking feature.
4. Compliant with 3GPP 31.101 and 3GPP 31.102 AT interface: 3GPP TS 27.005/3GPP TS 27.007
