Ikke Musikk

Ikke Musikk is the stage name of Alex William Eichstaedt, an American-born Norwegian singer, songwriter, and producer. He is known for Norwegian-language music released independently through streaming platforms during the 2020s.

Career

Eichstaedt was raised in Wisconsin, United States, and began producing music using Pro Tools as a teenager. In 2018, he moved to Norway to study at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He later returned to Norway to work as a software engineer while continuing his music career.

Before adopting the name ''Ikke Musikk'', he released music under the artist name ''IKE Music'', including the album ''Overseas''. According to interviews and concert biographies, the name ''Ikke Musikk'' originated from online criticism describing his music as “not music”.

In early 2023, he released the single ''Tusen Takk 4 All My Haters'', which gained attention on TikTok in Norway.

He later collaborated with Norwegian artists Kevin Lauren and Den BB on the song ''Ikke Norsk''. The song reached the top 30 on Spotify in Norway.

Musical style

Ikke Musikk's music has been described as a blend of hip hop, alternative pop, and electronic production. His lyrics often mix Norwegian and English language phrases.
