J(oseph) Ian Ridpath (born in Toronto, Canada) is a Canadian artist best known for his paintings of Canadian landscapes. His style of Impressionism is inspired by the Canadian Group of Seven.

He began sketching with charcoal and pen and ink while still at school before turning to oils. He has participated several times in the ‘Through the Eyes of an Artist’ week held each August at the Halton Region Mountsberg Conservation Area which has provided the subject of many of his paintings. He has displayed regularly at the Arts Milton (AM) Gallery since late 2009.

He lives in Burlington, Ontario.He is president and co-founder of Three Cord Ministries[1] and Ian Ridpath - Oil Painter [2]. Through his professional work in electronics he has authored several technical articles on monolithic integrated circuits. He is the grand-nephew of Bruce Ridpath, professional hockey player for the original Ottawa Senators.
