My name is Uxo (he/they). I studied Mathematics at the University of Seville and graduated in 2020. My interests include:

  • Speedcubing
  • Maths and science in general
  • Languages
  • Geography and maps

I created this account a few years back, but I have only recently started making edits. I intend to focus on keeping cubing-related articles updated.

About me

Speedcubing

I learned how to solve a Rubik's Cube in 2009 and since then I have been to more than 100 WCA competitions.[1] In all that time, I have broken 3 European records and more than 40 Spanish national records. I was also a WCA Delegate (a "cubing referee," basically) from 2019 to 2023. Right now, my favourite events are Skewb and Square-1.

Speedcubing is a very important part of my life. I have met most of my current friends at competitions and I get to travel quite often because of it.

Maths

As stated before, I graduated in Maths in 2020. I have always been fascinated by Maths and science. People often think that Rubik's cubes and Maths go hand in hand, which isn't always the case - although it is for me! In fact, my final dissertation for my university degree was about the group structure of the Skewb.[2]

Languages

I started learning English when I was 4 and French when I was 6. I passed the C2 Proficiency and DELF B2 in 2015. Apart from these, I have shown interest in a wide variety of languages over the years: Japanese, German, Catalan, Basque, Swedish, modern Greek, Esperanto, etc.

I also studied Translation and Interpretation for a couple years, which has given me some insight into how languages actually work, as well as a solid command of the written Spanish language

Geography

I have been lucky enough to travel quite a bit, especially around Europe. This has given me the chance to know about different places and the way that countries and communities organise themselves. I am quite a big fan of geography quizzes and diagrams such as underground maps.

Goals in Wikipedia

My main objective here is to make sure that pages related to speedcubing are kept up to date. Additionally, I will try to look out for typos and poorly written articles in Spanish.
