Hiscore Warrior is focusing on creating “action puzzle” games that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

If you’re not familiar with what an “action puzzle” game is then the following list of some famous action puzzle games will make things clearer… Tetris, Bejeweled, Sokoban, Columns, Lights Out and The Same Game are all fine examples.

While it doesn’t hurt to have great graphics and sound, game play is at the heart of action puzzle games and, like great books, they have a timeless appeal.

“Why choose the action puzzle genre? Being a family man I enjoy playing with my kids, and while, for example, first person shooters can be fun to play co-operatively I also want some of my game playing time to have some longer lasting benefits. By playing action puzzle games you still get the competitive element to get that elusive high score and beat your opponent but it also teaches your children elements of problem-solving and logical thought”, quoted Adrian Nelson, the founder of Hiscore Warrior.

Their first game, “Blocks Away”, is out now for Windows, and will be followed soon by an Xbox 360 version and then appearing on other platforms.
