The origin:

griffinfinity is a word or term if you will that denotes the world wide web presence of one Michael Ray Griffin, born January 20, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois (United States of America). The word 'griffinfinity' came into being in 1996, initially as a user name. griffinfinity was borne of neccesity, as every time I, Michael Ray Griffin, attempted to employ the user name griff or griffin, invariably, it was already being used. Thus, I was tasked with inventing a unique word that would serve as my identity on the internet. Why griffinfinity? Every time I attempted to use griff, aside from being informed it was taken, a suggestion would be offered to use griff followed by numbers such as 'griff234', or griff46'. Being a longtime fan of the British television series 'The Prisoner', I recalled the words of our hero No. 6 "I am not a number, I am a free man!". I added the suffix infinity in lieu of numbers: griff to infinity! griffinfinity (it also allows for my full last name to be used as well).
