Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.
Before you ping me
"Courtesy ping" is an oxymoron. I would like the courtesy of being left alone to do my tasks in peace.
Before you leave me an angry, scolding, and/or condescending message on my talk page
I do not like arguing. I do not want to argue. I do not instigate arguments. There is almost nothing in the world I like less and dread more than arguing. It is exhausting, depressing, and demotivating.
Please trust that I have been here for many years in good standing, that I have indeed read whatever policy, guideline, or essay you are going to condescendingly imply I am unfamiliar with, and that I am making a good-faith effort to make edits in compliance with policy, guidelines, and long-established precedent, and to seek clarification on policy and guidelines when necessary.
I just want to be left alone in peace to work on the many backlogs we have, and in return I will leave you alone in peace.
Undetected vandalism
As the username indicates, this account is was for gnoming. Mostly, it is for reverting old and often embarrassing vandalism that has gone undetected, in some cases for years. I believe this is among the most urgent problems this place has (alongside undetected AI content), and wrote an essay on the subject.
Over 5,200 archived talk pages contain undetected vandalism. People are OK with this for some inexplicable reason.
