Low Birth Weight

Topics to Improve:

-Add dates to all statistics (year, source, country)

-Include more info on vaccines

-Change order of section (epidemiology before causes)

-Grammar improvements

-Add a breastfeeding section?

Under “Prevention and Outcomes”

-Shorten public health section —> part of it briefly glosses over prenatal care and mother’s health during pregnancy, which could be turned into its own prenatal care section

-Medical treatments section is just a continuation of public health section, and could potentially be combined? Then could switch the title of “medical treatments” to something more relevant, or get rid of the section altogether

-Include a breastfeeding section?

Foundation II Group 24 proposed edits

The introduction states that “Premature birth is the biggest contributor to the IMR” and provides a citation for the CDC, however that information may be outdated as the CDC now states that the leading cause of infant mortality is birth defects, and premature birth is now the second leading cause.
