A Chief Web Architect (CWA) is the highest-ranking corporate officer (executive) in charge of an organisation's Web presence, including all internet and intranet sites. The CWA typically reports to the CTO. A CWA will generally has the following skills:

  • Modern web design patterns, UI and UX tendencies
  • Common practices in architectural design and development of Web Software
  • Newest technologies, advantages and disadvantages of each
  • Decision making for upgrades / rewrites and technology choices
