Alderman Frank Calabro Born Francesco Calabro – 1935 D.O.B-29/30.06.1935 and Passed in 1988 atthe age of 53 yrs.

Came to Australia at the age of 15yrs on 20.06.1950 on a ship namedthe Achille Lauro, the cost of 1.500 Lire. They sailed 3rd class from Oppido Mamertina [Reggio Calabria] His first job was as a Tailor, working for MrD. Mansi in 1952. Frank had a Tailor shop in King StreetSydney in the ACA building from 1957 till 1963. Married in 1961.

Living in Wooloooware for acouple of years before moving to Liverpool Street Liverpool A Tailor and had 2 menswear stores,one in Liverpool and one in Campbelltown....yrs? The stores were named after him "FRANKS MENSWEAR" “ FRANKSFOR FASHION” Elected as an Alderman in Liverpool Councilin 1974-1988 A representative on Prospect Countycouncil Frank was involoved in Rotary …….. and the Red Shield Appeal…1977……

Was a Council member of Liverpool Councilfor ……years. President of the Liverpool Chamber ofcommerce, elected in March 1972 Was related to Frank Calabro MLC ofBonnyrigg and Calabro Buses and was also related to Frank Oliveri of OliveriBusses. 

There is a street and a community hallnamed in Frank Calabro’s honour “ the Frank Calabro Memorial Centre” CnrWebster Rd and Hillview Parade LURNEA August 1989

In 1988 he Campagned for the state seat ofMacquarie Fields, under Nick Greiner for the Liberal party. 

Alderman Frank Calabro was a foundationmember of the then recently formed F5 Task Force of 1988. The Task ForceChairman at the time was Alderman J. Bates.
