Sunday Shrimpers Reserves

Sunday shrimpers reserves have just embarked on an incredibly successful season in which they completed a treble; the league and 2 seperate cup competitions. This was down to a brilliant team with a never say die attitude. But of course in any team there are stars. Striker Eddie Peacock scored an incredible 26 goals as he went on to become the leagues leading goalscorer. He was helped in no small matter by superstar midfielder Nicky Parmer who himself chipped in withan amazing 21 goals. In defence it was Aarron (Stan) Wildney who received the plaudits by coming away with the player of the season awards. Of course there were other players who deserve a mention, Tom 'Tuck' Rodger was always on hand with his amazing team spirit and likeable character and touch. Mark 'Ug' Parmer, brother of Nicky, who was ALWAYS willing to get dirty for the cause. The the reat of the defence, Craig 'moonlicks' Manley and Darren 'should be on Coronation street' King were towers of strength all season. Luke Parr was solid at left back. Nathan 'dya know Nicole Horner' Ruddy was the flying irishman who has sadly now left the team, he will be sorely missed. Paul 'Macca' McDonough was outstanding upfront and played at the back when necassary. Parrsy was good in goal. Then the so called 'squad players' its not a Shrimpers game without the legendery John Cordle who did his bit on the pitch but raised the spirits to new levels off it!! Who can forget when he got started on at one of the cup finals? Darren 'Taylor' Warnes joined near the end of the season but contributed greatly. The less said about Ian 'good touch' Parmer the better, NOTE no relation to Mark or Nicky. All this success however, would probably not have come, I say probably because the team still had its superstars, without the management team. Colin Rodgers was tactically aware. Terry did a banging orange squash at half time. But the most legendary man of them all our gaffer Andrew 'get your f*****g hair cut' Kingsbury. Or Kings for short. The blokes a ledge wouldnt be the Shrimpers without him. So who dya, who dya be who dya be a SHRIMPER!!!
