Zach Jacobs, known professionally as DJZJ, and CONTACT, is a New York DJ, remixer, and record producer. His style can be described as melodic, big room, progressive house. In 2010 his debut bootleg titled “Rounder Than Me” made it to the top two on Hype Machine and was featured on FratMusic.com.


History

Hailing from Huntington, New York, Zach started attending Syracuse University 2008 where he studies architecture. He got into electronic dance music when he started occupying most of his time in the architecture studios come his second year at Syracuse. Zach began his musical career at age 13 when he started playing piano and guitar. Soon thereafter he started producing after finding his love for electronic dance music. Starting with mash-ups and bootlegs, Zach quickly honed in his skill and started to produce original material. His most recent development is a remix of Ann Lee’s “Voices”.



Influences

CONTACT’s influences include Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, and Fedde Le Grand. He takes elements of Dutch house and Swedish house and combines them together to create a blend of cultural music.



Touring

CONTACT has been able to play in clubs all over the world. From being the resident DJ at ASTOR Club in Florence, Italy to DJ-ing the official after party for the Major League Soccer all-star game. CONTACT has also spread his talents through NYC playing a vast number of clubs and bars including Cellar Bar, and ROAM. CONTACT has opened up for such acts as New York DJ / Producer David Berrie (aka dBerrie) at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse, New York, and Jacomino, a DJ based out of New York and Miami. CONTACT is also playing a dance marathon for Habitat for Humanity to help raise money for underprivileged children.
