Option 1

Article title
Prince Whipple
- I have chosen this article because at first glance, it looked like it was missing some information. The article is short and uses very few sources.
Article Evaluation
Lead:
- The lead sentence is very simple but lacks any context of the what the article contains. It is only a simple sentence about his life.
Content:
- I believe this article may be missing information due to its limited sources provided (five total as of September 3, 2020).
Tone and Balance:
- For the most part, this article is well written and neutral. The main issue is the amount of information. There is not a lot of information on his life and time during the American Revolution.
Sources and References:
- The sources are dated from the early 2000's.
- In the article, there is a passage under "Early Life" that is not cited.
- The sources appear to have been written by mostly white authors and writers.
Organization:
- The article is short, but well written. It is only broken down by two sections.
Images and Media:
- There is only one image in this article.
Talk Page:
- The talk page only has one entry explaining the modifications done to the page.
- Based on the history, this article has seen several updates in 2020; the last one being in August 27 (category removal). Looking though the history reveals little editing and small changes.
Overall Expression:
- Based on Wikipedia's article finder, this particular article is rated at a "S". I agree that there is plenty of room for improvement.
- This article strengths is in the writing. It is fairly neutral and well written.
- This article however lacks information. It is a short article with little sources and details.
- I believe that with some extra sources, this article can be expanded and provide more details of Prince Whipple and his contributions to the American Revolution.

Option 2

Article title
Judith Catchpole
- I have chose this article because it seemed short, especially with the amount of sources provided. I believe that it can be expanded on based on first looks.
Article Evaluation
Lead:
- The lead I believe is a bit overly detailed. The second paragraph could be used for a section on her early life.
- The lead does a good job in explaining who she was and her significance in American History.
Content:
- The content of the article is relevant to the subject.
-The last update to this article occurred in March 2020.
Tone and Balance:
- The article, especially the section "Circumstances" tells the story of her trial fairly neutral.
- One issue that I noticed is that the citation in "Circumstances" may be non-functioning anymore. The link directs to an unsafe website so there is no chance to check the source right now.
Sources and References:
- Some source links do not work anymore (404 error).
- The majority of the sources are in the mid 2000's with the most recent being 2007.
- I find it difficult to find information on who the authors of the sources are.
Organization:
- The article have a few grammatical errors or sentences that could be worded differently to avoid confusion.
- For the most part, this article is easy to read, but I feel that more background information can be added prior to the section "Circumstances".
Images and Media:
- There are no images or media attached to the article
Talk Page:
- The talk page contains two sections, both which are editors changes to the article.
- This article is of interest of a Wikiproject: Biography, Maryland, and Women's history.
- This article was rated "S". I agree that there can be room for improvement.
Overall Expression:
- This article on its own feels empty and missing some key information.
- Some of the source links are broken.
- This article is fairly written well, but has a few grammatical errors..
- I believe this article is underdeveloped as it is now and can be improved with more information and better sentence structures.
- This article, as of now, is neutrally written.

Option 3

Article title
Jane Minor
- I chose this article because it dealt with a woman of color during early American History. On top of that, it seemed to be a short article, despite it having a fair number of sources.
Article Evaluation
Lead:
- The lead sentence is quick and straight to the point.
- It lacks a description of the article's sections.
- The lead sentence is just that, a sentence. It does not contain a lot of information but just the bare minimum of who this person was.
Content:
- The content in the article is appropriate.
- It is possible that there is missing information in regards to her early life. Granted, given the sources, it may be possible that this is all we have.
Tone and Balance:
- The article is neutral. No signs of persuasion anywhere.
Sources and References:
- It is worth noting that some sources do not relate to the person in the article, but more towards the practices of medicine. It does relate to the subject considering that Jane Minor was a healer, but it is possible that the source may be a stretch from the main topic.
- The sources range from as early as 1985 to 2015. It is a range of materials from thirty years.
- The links work, but mostly direct you to Google Books or Amazon.
- The authors of the sources range from being women and African American.
Organization:
- The article is clear, however, some sentences seem out of place. For example, the last paragraph in the section "Healer and emancipator" the sentence "Cupping and leeching were standard medical practices of that time" seems out of place or not needed.
- Grammatically speaking, it is well written.
Images and Media:
- There is only one image in the article, however, the image is appropriate and well-captioned.
- The given image is small however.
Talk Page:
- As of today (September 3rd, 2020) there is no talk page on this article.
- Wikipeida rated this article as "S".
- This article belongs to four different WikiProjects: Biography, diaspora, alternative medicine, and women's history.
Overall Expression:
- This article can used improvements and additional information.
- The article strengths include its concise information and good number of available sources.
- For the most part, this article could use additional sections depicting more details on Minor's life and achievements. It could also avoid using some sources that may not be relevant to the topic.
- I believe this article is underdeveloped, it could use more information and details on Minor's life and impact on history.
