Derek Vander Linden (born Sept. 7, 1987) is a University of Iowa student studying business. He graduated Earlham Senior High school in Earlham, IA in 2006. He first attended Drake University from Aug. 2006-May 2008. During the summer and historic floods of 2008 he worked at VentureNet Iowa a small marketing organization in the East Village of Des Moines as a marketing intern. Derek transferred to the University of Iowa in Aug. 2008. He entered the UI as an accounting major and changed his major to Management Information Systems part way through his first semester there. Derek resides in Earlham, IA where he lives with his mother, father, and younger sister, Aislinn.
