Dr. Wanda Gwyn was born May 1, 1969 in Tampa, FL. Her birth name is Wanda Cassandia Presley. Originally, her middle name was Cassandra however the person taking the information for the birth certificate did not know how to spell the name correctly. This error went unnoticed until she was trying to get her restricted license at age 16. Dr. Gwyn is the youngest of 6 half siblings that grew up with her biological mother Margaret Riley also of Tampa but she grew up living with her paternal aunt Annie Massey of Tampa closer to her father Bunch Presley who passed away in 1990. Dr. Gwyn was born with a club foot and she wore leg braces for 32 years. It wasn't until she joined the YMCA and lost a total of 70lbs was she able to gain the mobility needed to maintain physically on her own and give up her braces.

Dr. Gwyn was educated with her Phd from Capella University in Organization and Management www.capella.edu. She wrote her dissertation on how a particular area utilized their monies received from the government via contracts. The dissertation was titled "Cost Matters: An analysis of cost service programming and organizational sustainability for CBC Circuit 12." Since receiving her Phd she has begun hosting a radio show with Dr. K. Handy of Anchorage, Alaska to help support other doctoral students in their journey. She has also organized two support groups the Phd Women's Network and the Phd Men's Network which currently hold more than 400 members combined. Dr. Gwyn has also teamed with Dr. K. Dr. Gwyn believes herself to be a new type of educator and enjoys the classroom as well as online. She currently teaches Ethics and Business courses.

Dr. Gwyn has been married for 21 years to her husband Warren and they have three children Presley (25 years old), KimberlyAnn (24 years old), and Kerri (23 years old). All three children are successful in their current endeavors and have never been in any legal trouble. At age 21, she met a woman named D. Powell who she would later call her special mom. D. Powell has two children A. Powell and C. Powell that Dr. Gwyn refers to as her siblings. However, the closest person in her life is her grandmother D. Powell's mom. M. Spitzer, her grandmother, was 103 years old (upon her death in 2013)and Dr. Gwyn's most influential person in her life. They would spend several days each week together often going on adventures to the beach, watching fireworks, and having dinners. Ms. Spitzer has also been known to beat Dr. Gwyn several times while playing cards. Upon completion of Dr. Gwyn's dissertation M. Spitzer is the only one that has read it cover to cover and challenged her on several sections to ensure she knew the material post defense.

In her spare time, Dr. Gwyn enjoys spending time mentoring children who have been in foster care.
