Dr. Ranjeeta Chatterjee is born to Mr. Hitendra Bhattacharjee and Mrs. Anita Bhattacharjee on Thursday in a full moon day (Purnima). From very childhood, she was fond of music and dance along with her studies. She has been trained in Indian Classical Music (vocal) and completed Visharad. She performed in many dance shows in Creative Stream (Uday Shankar- Amala Shankar disciple).
After completing her Graduation in Zoology Hons. and Masters in Zoology with specialization in Ecology and Environment from Jamshedpur Women's College, she qualified CSIR UGC NET also. Meanwhile, she did Diploma in Software Technology and Certificate course in Medical Transcription too. During the vacations, she had undergone various trainings including Teach to the Future through ICT, Laboratory Trainings at Medical Research Center and Pathology Department of Tata Main Hospital, Jamshedpur.
Just after completing her Masters, she started teaching in Jamshedpur Women's College. She was faculty in the Departments of Zoology, Environment and Water Management Studies, Vocational Computer Training Centre. She was also Counselor at IGNOU. She was also faculty at Viswavidyalay Chetna Manch at Graduate College.
She was Research Scholar at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, at Advance Biochemical Laboratory in Zoology department. She also taught in BSCT Mahila College, Ghatsila.
After marriage, she relocated to Pune. In Pune, she first joined Fergusson College as faculty in Zoology. Then she joined Nowrosjee Wadia College and finally became Asst. Professor in Zoology at RMC College, Akurdi, Pune. There she along with academics, started looking after the Cultural activities and soon developed a strong Cultural Department. She then got associated with the NSS and Cultural department of University of Pune. She became the Team Manager of Avhan and Youth Festivals.
Gradually she got associated with the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and was selected in the Judges' Panel. She organized the West Zone Youth Festival at SP Pune University.
She authored three books, which got published from Germany. She completed a Minor Research Project, funded by UGC. Her research works have been published in various National and International research journals. Many small research projects have been guided by her. She also received Ph.D. Guideship in Zoology of SO Pune University.
Her field of research work includes Environmental Biology, Ecotoxicology (Pollution Biology), Conservation Biology, Bioconversion, Waste Management, Ethology, Gerontology, Chronobiology, Children health, Parascience, Parapsychology, Nanobiology, Astrobiophysics and Music Therapy.
She is also editorial board member in 5 International Research journals and also reviewer of many National and International Research journals.
