Donnard lives in London, England and is homeless. After years of struggling with that ridiculous dead German, he is grudgingly a marxist (i.e. he thinks that Uncle Karl's analysis of how societies, in particular, capitalism, have developed is useful but it is a pity he never learned to write) but one who thinks that Uncle Karl's idea of communism (it'll work out all right on the night so we don't need to work it out in detail) is a bit optimistic, given the experience of the last 100 years, and we might need to rethink that one. He is also a disillusioned anarchist: for those who don't know, you're not supposed to be an anarchist and a marxist at the same time, but obviously no-one's ever told this guy.
