Biography

Julio Angel Matos Mendez (born November 18, 1996), known professionally as Jhay Dohmie (El Dohmie), is a Dominican recording artist. Matos was born in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Norte, Dominican Republic. He is known for his for his fast and furious musical videos style which led him to popularity in the early 2021s through songs like "La Presion", "Si Es Por Mi No Duermo" and "Tamo Clean". He went on to form good relationships with artists, such as Yomel El Meloso, R8 La Esencia, Julio Restituyo, Sin Freno, El Pote Con Filo and Billy Ronca amongst others. This resulted Yomel El Meloso talked about the "La Presion Remix", when he released "La Presion" in May 2021, Jhay Dohmie's reach continued to grow in the coming years, "La Presion" went on to surpass the 1 million Views on Youtube in 2 Months 2021.

Career

2021: Career beginnings and Trap Exitos

Matos became independent from his family at the age of 17 after a childhood where he dreamed of becoming an English Teacher, Matos Worked in many Call Centers as a Customers Service Rep.

Matos's first release as a solo artist was "La Presion" in May 2021, a song that was produced by Minaya Punto 5which made waves in the Dominican Urban scene at the time, cementing himself as an upcoming artist in the Dominican Republic known as Jhay Dohmie (El Dohmie).
