Dgebuadzes represented the family name of princely nobility having palaces, gateway churches, extensive patrimonies and ancestral fort in their ownership. Dgebuadze the Secretary of the King Abgar depicted the life of the king Abgar in the year of 67 after Christ and the people of his family name at the time of the Arabs invasion arrived at Akhaltsikhe and therefrom to Odishi and the king accepted them among princely nobility in 785. Ioane Bagrationi (1768-1830) provided a brief description of the family names of the Georgian nobility.
