Sharon Rose Hitchcock (January 30, 1951 - April 21, 2009) was a Canadian artist of Haida heritage. She was born into the Kaawaas branch of the Sdast’a.aas Eagle clan of Kiusta. Her crests are Eagle, Supernatural Killer Whale, Frog, Beaver, Bear and Raven. Her mother (Flossie Ruth Yeltatzie) and her father (xxxx)were both Haida. Sharon began practicing Haida art at age 8 by carving bars of soap. Mention any schooling she took. Describe her early successes (among the first female Haida silver carvers, paintings in Masset) Is aunt of Jay Simeon. Mention her book and the canoe for expo 86 in vancouver.
