Dennis Michael Joseph Vincent ("Denny") Fyck, b. May 29th, 1987 in London, Ontario, Canada, was former captain of the Canadian National Geography Team, best known for his tv-friendly persona, good looks, and popped collars. But mostly for never taking out the garbage, emptying the dishwasher, and for being way to self absorbed. His younger sister, Alison, is definitely a beauty and one day the world will wake up and realize she is a goddess.

GEOGRAPHY

His father, Richard, holds a BSc in Geography-Geology from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and many other members of his family had prominent interests in Geography. His mother, Lorraine, worked extensively for an international Economic Development agency, for example.

After competing at numerous levels, Denny placed in 2nd in Ontario in the 2001 Great Canadian Geography Challenge, earning his right to compete at the national tournament at the age of 14, where he placed 7th.

After another 2nd place finish in provincials the following year, he returned to Nationals again, where he came second to Jacob Cosman, of Kamloops, British Columbia.

As a result, he was forced to a playoff (which he eventually won) for a spot on the 2003 Canadian Geography team, which eventually took 6th out of a field of 20 at competition in Tampa, Florida.

TRIVIA

He currently attends Wilfrid Laurier University in Kitchener, Ontario, where he is pursuing a degree in Economics and Financial Management.

Also a rather undistinguished high school athlete, he was part of the Preston High School (Cambridge, Ontario) 4 x 400 relay team which finished 1st in County track meets in his grade 12 year, along with Dan Ritz, Kevin White, and Julian Liverpool. He insists they only won because "Everyone else on the team was really fast and I wasn't awful."
