My name is Chris Whitten.
I'm the webmaster of a new site called WikiTree, for family history.
I'm also the founder of WikiAnswers. It was created in 2002 as FAQ Farm. The metaphor was about growing Q&A. The FAQs evolve organically through the contributions of users. In 2004 FAQ Farm adopted the MediaWiki code. In 2006 I sold the business to Answers.com.
I'm sorry to say I'm not every active on Wikipedia. I respect the community immensely, but focus on growing WikiTree. (By coincidence, I happen to know Jimmy Wales and Tim Shell. Jimbo and Timbo shared office space with me back in 1996 in Chicago when I was building a non-profit organization called The Henry Hazlitt Foundation and they were starting up Bomis.)
