1 July 2017 I'm a new community member and I don't have the slightest idea of how to join the editing community. I don't even know how to respond to questions for me on the help page. How do I save a draft of an edit? etc etc. I must say that the interface isn't intuitive and even the basic "How To" articles assume mastery of the interface & html coding.

That said, my particular areas of specialty are: European history, the history of republican Rome, and the history of early Judaism.

My current project is to establish a neutral detailed & referenced biography of Edward Hyde, 3rd Earl of Clarendon and royal governor of New York & New Jersey. I've written the text. Now I need to learn how to translate it into html code, refine it to Wiki standards, then get it past the reviewers.

The learning curve is incredibly steep.
