User:Cryptic/recent U5

The most recent 50 deletions mentioning "U5" in their title, whose log id is divisible by 100 (to spread the sample out, between both administrators and time).

The "edits" column is a count of the owning user's currently-not-deleted edits to namespaces other than User: and User talk: that preceded the deletion. I didn't attempt to account for username changes: it's assumed that the name of the page at the time of deletion still corresponds to the user.

For Wikipedia talk:Speedy deletion#RfC: Replacing U5 with a primarily procedural mechanism.

G11 very clearly correct; U5 correct too, but it requires a much more thorough reading to establish that it can't be interpreted as a draft than it does to conclude that it's entirely promotional. —Cryptic 04:21, 4 October 2025 (UTC)

Growing up in a culturally rich and historically significant town, he was deeply influenced by the traditions, struggles, and resilience of his people.") Born and raised in Johannesburg, [surname] is widely known in his community for his powerful and accurate shooting ability, famously capable of striking the ball from his home yard all the way to the nearby local shop—a distance that became a local legend." The first revision after the previous deletion started "Got it! Here's a more realistic, soccer-themed wiki-style bio with those details:", so I certainly don't fault it being tagged G15 (in addition to U5 and G11). Maybe not technically a G15 anymore after that was removed (did we decide on that?), but it's way far into G11 territory. And it's way far into (horrific) attempt at a draft territory, too. —Cryptic 02:30, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

Maybe possibly interpretable as a draft if you're feeling generous - the first part is identical to the description of the user's youtube channel (click on the "...more" link) except the initial "Welcome to the official YouTube channel of" was removed. I'm not feeling generous. No question it's G11 material, even before you get to all the social media links. Also G12 material even besides the cut-and-paste from youtube, since it goes on to include the full text of this and this. I'll accept U5 as quite defensible here; the cases for G11 and G12 are unassailable. —Cryptic 02:30, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

But the subject is, I quote, "The Stupid Fucking Neighborhood Cat", and the infobox and prose are consistent with that. Not plausibly a draft intended for eventual inclusion in the encyclopedia despite the formatting, but not unreasonable as editing experiments. Y'know, the sort of thing the sandbox is for, learning markup and article formatting and whatnot. I don't think this is a technically valid U5, no more than it's a valid G3, but given its age (its only revision is from shortly after the user's two visible ones in mainspace), I don't actually have a beef with the deletion. This person has long since moved on without contributing to the project. —Cryptic 03:10, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

I'd have G11'd this too, but think I might have had a hard time defending it if it were brought to DRV. Total of four sentences follow the creation log excerpt, describing (with only moderate self-promotion, despite the grating mention of "academic journey") the subjects they'd studied and therefore the sort of things they might have edited if we had given them some guidance instead of deleting their userpage five minutes after they created their first draft. Draft:The Evolving Landscape of Technostress with the Influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) wasn't ever going to be acceptable, but it wasn't speedyable either short of invoking IAR. —Cryptic 15:45, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

This was clearly draftlike - enough so that another user reverted the U5 tag with edit summary "? this isn't a valid CSD page". They put it back on with summary "nvm its AI slop", though, which is correct - that first hallucinated ref visible in the creation log is characteristic of all four. Representative excerpt: "Unlike traditional computing systems that rely on silicon-based digital logic, Gölge operates as a living material that thinks through its physical structure. The system introduces an entirely new class of computation based on 4D geometric principles, fluidic logic, and acoustic communication protocols, creating intelligent materials that can sense, process, and respond to their environment autonomously." But, while those two sentence superficially resemble (3×terrible) drafting, the page as a whole really doesn't, and not just because the extensive use of markdown makes it so difficult to read. Good U5, doesn't fall under any other criterion. —Cryptic 15:45, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

G11 is also fair. Is it a U5? I don't think so; it would be indisputably draftlike if it had started with a definition instead of jumping right into its founding and its founding organization's founding. The single sentence written in first person could be cured simply by changing "Our" to "The". That it's worded promotionally enough to be G11able doesn't make it not be a draft; it just makes it a very bad draft, and that rules out U5. —Cryptic 23:21, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

Global Connections." as a single mispunctuated fragment), 183 words total; written in the first person, and not at all draftlike. They're biographical in nature, and I'd interpret twelve as "limited" in the scope of "limited autobiographical content" in WP:UPYES. (That WP:UP#NOT forbids "excessive self-promotional material, especially when not directly relevant to Wikipedia" isn't actually relevant to U5, just the currently-proposed U7 (3A). I do have a hard time calling this excessive in length, though not excessive in degree.)
I'd rate three of the sentences entirely anodyne and appropriate, two of them moderately promotional, and the remaining seven very promotional. Cutting out 75% of the content is enough of a fundamental rewrite to be a valid G11; but given that it's so short, I'd like to think I'd first try reducing it to the three nonpromotional sentences, which respectively state her birthplace, her hobbies, and a capsule description of her son, and are enough to form a coherent userpage on their own. —Cryptic 23:21, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

That's reasonable to interpret as limited autobiographical content; it's also reasonable to interpret it as promotional enough to speedy as G11. Whether it's reasonable to actually speedy it instead of just calling it speedyable (but talking to the user instead) depends on their other contributions. In this case, I'd have fallen on the delete side. Possibly also a G5 considering the checkuser/upe block. —Cryptic 23:21, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

I'd rate only 2 of their 14 sentences as having any chance whatsoever of surviving unchanged in a neutral Wikipedia article, so it's an easy G11.
The last paragraph abruptly stops attempting to be a draft altogether; it reads "Influential individuals or groups can tarnish reputations with their PR machinery, but justice prevails. I don't usually action speedy tags on articles of musicians unless they're very, very clear cases, so I'll give the deleting admin the benefit of the doubt on G11 (which she added; it was tagged only U5). —Cryptic 02:26, 6 October 2025 (UTC)

His only other edit (in draftspace) resembled a Wikipedia article even less than the resume deleted here did. —Cryptic 02:26, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
2025-07-30 11:10:36 Explicit User:Maszu0Man/Sample page (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (restore) 0 U5: Misuse of Wikipedia as a web host No: Full content was "this is a sussy baka imposter message". Even if you can't make heads or tails of that and weren't aware that we have a handy dictionary around here somewhere that (to my mild surprise) has an entry for the phrase as a whole too, U5 is not "patent nonsense in namespaces that G1 specifically excludes". Or even if you understood it and correctly interpreted it as an editing test, U5 is not "test edits in namespaces that G2 specifically excludes" either. Had only the single edit creating it (in October 2021), no speedy tag or anything. —Cryptic 02:26, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
2025-07-30 08:33:28 Jimfbleak User talk:Jerseylovebrand/sandbox (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (restore) 0 Multiple reasons: speedy deletion criteria U5, G11 Partial: There was a draft here, different from the one deleted at User:Jerseylovebrand/sandbox. It was actually better than that one, but that's probably because the one in User: looks human-generated and the one in User talk: is obvious LLM product (complete with citations to https://example-news-article.com/jerseylove-launch and https://exampleblog.com/jersey-love-review). The first two sentences were even reasonably neutral! Three of the remaining four decidedly were not, nor was the product list. G11 was correct. G15 would've been too, had that criterion existed yet. —Cryptic 02:26, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
2025-07-27 10:53:50 JBW User:Mohammadilhamyasin (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (restore) 0 U5: Misuse of Wikipedia as a web host & G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion Partial: A terrible, terrible draft, but a draft nonetheless, as can be seen from the creation log. Remainder of the paragraph that was cut off in the middle of the log was ..."of Universitas Islam Malang with a GPA of 3.55, following his Bachelor's degree in the same field from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the same university." Mere description of the author's education, skills, and current position doesn't make it a resume, however self-promotional; this was entirely prose, in the third person, that someone with no understanding of Wikipedia's inclusion criteria or internal style could very plausibly consider the start of an encyclopedia article. Blindingly obvious G11, though, even before I got to "Throughout his academic journey". —Cryptic 03:29, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
2025-07-26 12:38:13 Jimfbleak User:Exo da beast (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (restore) 0 U5: Misuse of Wikipedia as a web host Partial: This was plainly an attempt at drafting an encyclopedia article; it started "[name], better known by his stage name Exo Da Beast, is a Zimbabwean rapper and hip-hop artist. He gained recognition as part of the underground hip-hop duo Da Matrix Movement." I'll give the benefit of the doubt on G11 since I try to avoid acting on any but the worst articles about musicians, and this wasn't that. —Cryptic 03:29, 6 October 2025 (UTC)

User: Shaunsebastian4 Partial: A two-sentence draft with a two-line infobox. "[name] is a [location]-based technology entrepreneur and cybersecurity enthusiast who co-founded [company] in March 2021. His background includes a diploma in computer engineering and cybersecurity training, alongside founding multiple IT ventures dating back to 2016." G5 was correct. —Cryptic 03:29, 6 October 2025 (UTC)

G11 was correct. But was very clearly written generated in the style of a Wikipedia article, not just plausibly so, so U5 is out. —Cryptic 03:29, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
2025-07-25 05:57:53 Spencer User:Thisonespolish/sandbox (talk|edit|history|logs|links|watch) (restore) 0 U5: Misuse of Wikipedia as a web host Partial: Superficially a long draft about a 27-year-old who had died a week prior. Reads like a middle-schooler's autobiography. So laden with in-jokes that I don't think it's credible, but if it is true, Wikipedia's not the place for a memorial, and certainly not a memorial that nobody but the subject's closest friends would have a hope of following. Not a G11 like it was tagged as (and I don't get the logic of tagging it {{db-spamuser}} either; the username has nothing to do with the content). Definitely in poor taste if it's just made-up editing experiments. I would have deleted this, but not cited a speedy deletion criterion; if pressed, I'd probably settle on G3 as being closest. —Cryptic 03:29, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
