Craig Govender, is a Sports Physiotherapist, with a special interest in Cricket. He is currently employed on a full time basis with the Bizhub Highveld Lions cricket team, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Craig's primary and secondary education began in Durban. He attended school in a suburb called Kharwastan, which neighbours Chatsworth, Durban. He was always a keen sportsman, and participated in varies sporting codes throughout school, until cricket become a great love in high school. After completing a year of Sports Science at the then University of Durban-Westville, he left for the Univeristy of the Western Cape in 2001, to fore fill a degree in Physiotherapy. At the conclusion of his under grad degree and a year of community service, he returned to UWC to begin his masters degree and a dis satiation entitled, The implementation of an injury prevention programme in the lower limb soft tissues of fast bowlers. This was completed in 2009.

He moved to Johannesburg and the Highveld Lions in May 2010, to take up a full time post at The Wanderers. Prior to been asked to become the physiotherapist at the Lions he was the Head of Medical at UWC Cricket and was part of the staff at the Sports Skills for LIfe Skills programme (www.ss4ls.org.za). He was the National University Cricket Physio (2007-2009), National Cricket Acadmey (2010-2011), South African Men's Volleyball Team (2010) and the SA A Physio (present)
